Lustigman, who led MGB to gold at the 2015 EMG in Berlin, has been putting the finishing touches to preparations together with joint-manager Phil Caplin.

The squad has been training for several months, as well as friendly matches, and Lustigman says they cannot wait to get started.

“We have extremely talented players, some with invaluable previous international Games experience, and an interesting mix of characters both on and off the court.

“We know the countries that will provide the biggest challenges at the Games but the squad will be mentally, physically and tactically prepared and as reigning European U18 champions we are confident of further success.”

Caplin said: “Adam and I are using our past experiences to relay to players and parents the pride of representing Maccabi GB at an international Games, both on the playing front and cultural aspects as well.

“Spending pre-camp together is a time to reflect on our Jewish Identity as well as further our team bonding before the competition begins.”
