The Israeli midfielder, who recently signed a one-year contract extension, earned the Seagulls their third league triumph, getting the final touch to Jose Izquierdo’s shot at St James’s Park.
Kayal, 30, described the win as “a massive three points”.
He went on to say: “We deserved the win. Sometimes you win games in a different way and the way we won was by everyone putting in more than 100 per cent, put his body on the line. Everyone.
“To get a clean sheet is an amazing feeling – back to back.
“A first away win this season and at this place, which we know is a tough place.”
Countryman Tomer Hemed, who is on loan at QPR from Brighton, also registered in the 2-0 win over Ipswich.
Hemed doubled the lead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.
The goal marked a memorable week for Hemed who also found the net in Israel’s 2-0 Nations League win over Albania last week.
