North West London Jets (NWLJ) snatched a 2-1 win in a tightly contested game against HMH TA in the Excel League.

With a depleted team, NWLJ had to reshuffle the squad, adopting a different formation to what the players were used to.

HMH TA kicked off the match and were instantly on the ascendancy, putting the five NWLJ defenders under pressure. However, the back five of the Jets defended superbly with HMH TA creating very few chances in front of goal.

Despite this resilient defensive display, HMH proved clinical in front of goal by converting the one chance they had in the first half as their shot slipped under the goalkeeper's hands to role into the back of the net.

NWLJ were then determined to bounce back and slick passing from back to front opened up the HMH TA defence on numerous occasions with Joel Leighton, David Amor and Eytan Kleinberg all having chances to bring the Jets level.

HMH went into the break with a one-goal lead but the Jets soon levelled the score after the restart with David Amor converting a superb lofted ball by Leighton for Amor to latch onto and score.

HMH TA tried to hit back, although some great goalkeeping and defensive displays kept HMH at bay. Man-of-the-Match Matti Karp, grabbed the Jets winner by receiving the ball on the edge of the HMH penalty area from Leighton, only to swivel into space before planting the ball into the top corner of the net out of the goalkeeper's reach.

The Jets defended fantastically well to maintain the lead and end the game with a well deserved two points
