Montana Boca United A eased into the fourth round of the Peter Morrison Trophy after seeing off AJY League Highgate & Muswell Hill Under 17s 5-0 in South Oxhey.

Goals from Andrew Binstock (2), Raymond Harrod, Darren Cohen and Simon Hecker sealed their place in the second round where they will meet Brady Maccabi.

It really was men against boys, with the Premier Division side completely dominating the cup tie from start to finish.

Most home supporters were thinking of getting their calculators out in the early stages as Montana stormed into a three-goal lead inside 20 minutes. The first came after three minutes when an inswinging corner from Simon Hecker was confidently headed into the top corner by player-chairman Harrod.

One became two five minutes later as Binstock got his first goal of the season with a vicious 20-yard effort which curled into the bottom corner.

Montana added a third after 20 minutes from another set piece with central defender Darren Cohen heading home.

The visitors tried to get the ball out of their half but had it not been for keeper Clive Saffer, Montana’s Simon Hecker would have grabbed a fourth before the break.

Not much changed after the interval as Montana stayed in control and continued to pass the ball around with great aplomb. They refused to let HMH into their half. They finished the youngsters off in the last 20 minutes. Binstock bagged his second of the morning, rifling home from close range after a scramble in the box.

The best goal however was saved until last as Hecker finished the game off in style with an exquisite 20-yard volley that dipped under the crossbar.

Montana captain Adam Osper reflected: “At times it was too easy but we just did our job and hopefully we can build on this and put out similar performances in the league.”

HMH skipper Adam David was pleased with the team’s effort. He said: “It was very difficult. Montana are of a very high standard. They moved the ball around quickly and played a high-tempo game. We tried to do what we could but in the end it wasn’t quite enough. We did well to only lose 5-0 to a team in the Maccabi League’s
Premier Division.”
