Israel to send largest delegation to Euro Games

articlemain

Israeli athletes are completing their preparations for the inaugural European Games in Baku.

Israel will send 142 athletes - the largest ever sport delegation - to the event which starts on June 12.

Twenty sports will feature, with 12 offering qualification for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Israeli winners of the triathlon, table tennis and shooting competitions will automatically qualify for the Rio Olympics. The delegation will also be represented in three of the five non-Olympic events, including 3-on-3 basketball and the sambo.

The Games will feature 6,000 athletes watched by more than 600,000 spectators and a TV audience of over a billion worldwide.
