Israel registers fourth Euro win as Wales close in on finals

Israel warmed-up for Sunday's crucial showdown against Wales with a convincing 4-0 victory over minnows Andorra on Thursday night.

In-form Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Eran Zahavi broke the deadlock inside the opening three minutes and there was no way back for the visitors at the Samy Ofer Stadium in Haifa.

Israel ran in three further goals in the first half, with Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton doubling the lead on 22 minutes.

Brighton striker Tomer Hemed chipped in with a penalty four minutes later before Munas Dabur competed the scoring seven minutes before the break.

With Sunday's game in Cardiff in mind, Israel boss Eli Guttman took off captain Tal Ben Haim and Zahavi in the second half with the points in the bag.

Elsewhere, Wales moved to within one win of qualification after Gareth Bale clinched maximum points in Cyprus. And Belgium came from a goal down to beat Bosnia 3-1.
