SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE TROPHY

LONDON LIONS 1 HARPENDEN TOWN 1 (Lions won 4-2 on penalties)

Facing higher league opponents for the second time in a week, Lions again showed they hold no fear and despite falling behind after the break, they rallied to put in a superb second-half performance and claim the draw when Liron Mannie teed up Jake Furman to score from close range.

With no extra-time in this competition, the game went straight to spot-kicks, with Adam Bolle, Charlie Rubin and Furman all converting while a combination of Harpin in the Lions goal and the crossbar denied Harpenden.

It was left to substitute Christian Edwards to score the fourth and decisive kick for Lions and send them through to the next round where we face familiar opponents in Bovingdon, who now play in SSMFL Division Two.

LIONS: James Harpin, Sam Hamerton, Adam Harvey, Adam Lipman, Jamie Jackson, Alex Levack, Jake Furman, Liron Mannie, Adam Bolle, Adam Arnold, Charlie Rubin. Subs: Harry Hatchwell, Christian Edwards
