Grant closing in on Ghana role

articlemain

Avram Grant looks set for a return to management with the Ghanaian national team.

Grant has been in negotiations with the GFA and will reportedly receive a signing-on fee of £130,000 and earn £30,000 a month.

He said: “It is a great honour to be given the nod to handle arguably the best soccer nation on the continent and I will do my best to move the Black Stars forward."

There had been concerns his Israeli nationality could pose access problems to some north African countries, but Grant has assured the GFA that he “has an alternative way of dealing with it”. Grant’s late father was Polish, which will allow him to obtain a Polish passport.

Grant’s first task would be to lead Ghana at the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea in January."
