JC MSFL DIVISION TWO
Camden Park 2 London Maccabi Lions B 4
Two goals from hotshot James Gold saw Lions B end Camden Park's unbeaten record as they claimed an impressive 4-2 win at the Hive.
Adam Kosky was also on target for Jamie Kyte's men. The other strike came through an own goal.
Camden's goals came through Dan Baneth and Richard Silver.
Jubilant Lions boss Jamie Kyte told JC Sport: "Today we proved we can beat any team in the league if we turn up. The wind dictated the first half and we took advantage of it, launching balls and throws into the box which Camden struggled to deal with.
"In today's game we played as a team and hustled from the off, which we haven't been doing recently. Most players had a great game and it's going to be hard to pick a squad for next week.
"Joey Lazare and Will Beresford both played for the As this week and from talking to Malcolm, Will had a fantastic first 45, not getting one offside decision wrong and Joey proved a handful from the start. Dec Green had a fantastic game for us too and it's going to be a hard decision picking a keeper for next week's game."
Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "It was a tough defeat to swallow, playing into the wind in the first half against a fired up Lions.
"Two costly mistakes put as 2-0 now before we had even settled, and after that it was always going to be an uphill battle.
"The boys fought hard in the second half to try and salvage the game, but it was too little too late.
"We're deeply disappointed, but we'll pick ourselves up and go again next week, expect a reaction.
"Congratulations to Lions, who were a much stronger outfit than we faced at Rowley lane earlier in the sesaon. There was some particularly resolute defending from Kyte's well-drilled men."
