Two goals from Daniel Lewis inspired Brady Blues Under 9s to a 5-2 victory over HMH Red.
Playing an away fixture at home, Brady went into the game without knowing too much about their opponents who proved strong with a couple of players catching the eye.
Joel Freedman gave Brady an early advantage, and then from a free kick awarded, Tom Rackind’s pile-river flew in to the top of the net.
HMH pulled one back on the stroke of half time via a well-executed free-kick.
Brady took their advantage into the second half but were soon pegged back as HMH scored an equaliser.
At 2-2, the game was up for grabs but it was Brady who went for the jugular with superb play by Daniel Lewis proving the difference. Brandon Myers completed the job with a great shot into the roof of the net.
Brady boss Joel Nathan said: “We tried our rolling substitute system which seemed to work and allowed all the boys to be involved.”
