Derby win was most pleasing, says Gellman

Anthony Gellman says his Manchester Maccabi 1st table-toppers have set a benchmark after cruising past South Manchester.
Gellman’s side lead the pack after an eye-catching start to the season.

And their 4-1 win provided further evidence that they plan to wrestle the Accounts Premier Division crown off AFC Flixton.

Max Rose bagged a deadly double in the first-half before Ben Shalom and David Herman wrapped up a fourth win from their opening five games.

Manchester Maccabi boss Gellman said: "This was our best performance so far. South Manchester are a quality side so the manner of the win was most pleasing.

"Our intensity remained throughout. We have now set a level which we would like to reach every week. That won’t be easy but we have raised the bar. It’s about maintaining those standards."
