Danny Caro's Quote of the Week: March 15

articlemain

Although all the big boys produced some award-winning quips in their post-match conferences, this week's award goes to a cheeky chappy whose team are involved in the Division Three promotion scrap.

After setting his team up to silence the MGBSFL's leading marksman, with a big helping hand from Scott Shear and Elliot Coulton, Real Sosobad chief Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "We offered Adam Ellis a contract for next season with a tidy signing on bonus so let's hope he sees sense!"

----------------------------

BEST OF THE REST

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - "I'm certainly looking forward to traveling to Nyon for the quarter-final draw"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - QUOTE 1 - "All credit to FC Team - they got their tactics spot on - defended well and put us under pressure with their big guys. We wish them well for the rest of the season - hopefully they will be as committed when they play Raiders!"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - QUOTE 2 - "This result gives Raiders a huge advantage - we will fight to the end of course and never give up, but it is now very much theirs to lose"

- ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - "A week is a long time in football and after the disappointment of last weekend, we are much more content this Monday morning"

- JONATHAN COHEN (Temple Fortune) - "The overall conditions were excellent but the very dry pitch made it a very difficult surface – bobbly and very fast. It certainly wasn’t the best performance of our season, but it was maybe or most committed"

- RIC BLANK (Oakwood A) - QUOTE 1 - "There was a moment in the game when a Southgate player shouted that we were 'pony' and 'there for the taking'. It seemed a strange thing to say as we were the better side from start to finish"

- RIC BLANK (Oakwood A) - QUOTE 2 - "Seeing David Garbacz comments about the referee shows that all managers feel the heat - even at an amateur level. I hope he doesn't get in too much trouble with the FA for those comments"

- STIRLING KAY (Neasden) - "I would like to nominate the referee for ref of the week. He talked to both sets of players like men, never talked down to them and did not make the game about himself, unlike some refs. It was a very competitive game which he made look easy"

- BEN GILBEY (FC Team A) - QUOTE 1 - "I do think Hendon are the best team in the league, which is why I personally was so happy with the result and if I had to put money on a team winning the league, I would probably still put it on Hendon"

- BEN GILBEY (FC Team A) - QUOTE 2 - "We still have to play Norstar this season, so we may be Hendon's enemy this week, but we may be their best friends in weeks to come"
