Danny Caro's Division 2 Team of the Season

articlemain

Pre-season favourites FC Team B won with plenty to spare, but there were a series of eye-catching performances from players from other teams as well in a high-quality campaign.

1. DAVID GROSSMAN (FC Team B) - another rock solid contribution in a title-winning season. Commanding his area, kicked consistently, made the big saves when they mattered most and chipped in with several penalties

2. ALEX GOODMAN (NL Raiders C) - "has come into his own again this season and is developing into a box-to-box midfielder. Integral to the Oranges both going forward and when under the cosh. Excellent organiser of the team"

3. JONNY HORWITZ (AC Mill Hill) - "has been a revelation at left-back this season. ACM Player of the Year, having started as an attacker to playing left back he has been outstanding and a credit to the team"

4. OLIVER SEGAL (FC Team B) - "played majority of season in an unfamiliar position of centre back and been a rock"

5. DAN ASH (Oakwood B) - "has everything. Aggression, pace, skill, range of passing and an eye for goal. When he ticks, we tick"

6. DANIEL STANTON (FC Team C) - at the start of the season, not many teams expected to come up against the likes of Stanton and Stolerman. The former Maccabiah star instigated many Team attacks and played his part in the impressive performances against the B's

7. LORIAN MADANES (FC Team B) - Division Two Player of the Year. One of the most talented ballers outside of the Prem. Should be playing in it. Dazzling skills, stunning set-piece and excellent conversion rate and assists. "Played in every game, scored nearly 20 goals from midfield, probably created 30 and been the best and most consistent player in the division"

8. JON BREGER (FC Team B) - "captained the side to glory, influential in every game he plays"

9. BEN ZLOOF (AC Mill Hill) - a player who would walk into most teams, the in-demand Zloof enjoyed another prolific season to steer his to the runners-up slot

10. ADAM STOLERMAN (FC Team C) - not many weeks went by when Stolers didn't find the net. Scored some sensational goals and deserved a top two finish for his efforts

11. JACOB RICHLER-KLEIMAN (Oakwood B) - "How many goals? I've lost count. Dead eye in front of goal, electric movement and intelligent running. Has given most defenders a hard time and I expect that to stay the same next year"
