Coombe Hill top of the leaderboard again at Ladies National Tournament

Coombe Hill retained the title of top team at the 23rd Ladies National Tournament, held at Whitefield Golf Club.

The competition featured 77 female golfers from 11 teams in the UK and Republic of Ireland, who competed at the north Manchester course for the third time in the tournament’s history.

An outstanding score of 78 from Delyth Roberts of Coombe Hill helped her win the Singles Gross Trophy.

Coombe Hill won six trophies, including the Team Gross, the Singles Nett runner-up, Fourball Gross, Combined Singles & Fourball Gross and Team Singles Nett. 

Shirley were runners-up in the Team Gross, and they also won two other trophies, the Singles Gross runner-up and the Team Fourball Nett.

Edmondstown collected the Team Nett, as well as the Singles Nett, Fourball Nett runners-up and the Combined Singles & Fourball Nett.

There was also success for Bonnyton, who won the Fourball Nett.

The teams competing this year were from Abridge, Bonnyton, Coombe Hill, Dunham Forest, Dyrham Park, Edmondstown, Hartsbourne, Moor Allerton, Shirley, Combined Societies and Whitefield.

The competition is staged alternately in London and the Provinces and next year will be at Hartsbourne Golf Club in Bushey on May 21.
