Heaton Park Rovers boss David Seligman dedicated the last-gasp win to Josh Cohen.

Scans revealed that midfielder Cohen suffered a broken ankle after coming off worse in a 50-50 challenge.

Despite their dramatic victory over Haroldeans, Seligman admits the day was soured by the injury setback.

He said: "We wish Josh all the best and it’s a real shame for him and us. It was nothing malicious.

"We rallied round and this win was for him. We will miss him. He is a big player for us and was made captain for the day.

"It did take the gloss off the win when we heard the extent of the injury."

Cohen limped off in the third minute but HPR recovered to take the lead via Jonny Franks.

Haroldeans hit back when Bobby Fishel got the faintest of touches to divert Jonathan Harris’ free-kick home.

But Harris was penalised for handball late on as Franks struck home the 88th minute winner from the penalty spot.

Haroldeans boss Jamie Harris said: "There are no complaints about the penalty. A draw was probably a fair result.

"But we take it on the chin and move on. We wish Josh a speedy recovery. The club have sent their best wishes to him via a card. We want to see him back up on his feet soon."
