Clore Shalom win Maccabi Primary School netball tournament

articlemain

Clore Shalom won the final Maccabi GB Primary School Tournament of the year.

The Year 5 & 6 Netball competition saw three schools bring six teams to compete, representing their schools for the very last time.

Each side played each other once during the afternoon and all the girls enjoyed their opportunity to play one last time before moving onto their Secondary Schools.

Once all the group games were complete the top four teams progressed into the semi-final stages. Both semi-final games were full of goals and the parents and teachers who came to support their young players were treated to some great play.

In the first game, Clore Shalom A beat their B team counterparts to reach the final and in the other semi-final Rosh Pinah just managed to overcome Wolfson Hillel to set up the final against Clore Shalom.

The final was close and very exciting with both teams desperate to win the final Maccabi GB trophy of the year.

Ultimately it was Clore Shalom, with a team made up predominantly of Year 5 pupils who won the game and indeed the tournament.

Scott Shulton, Maccabi GB's School Sports Coordinator, was in reflective mood after the final tournament of the year,

"Once again Maccabi GB has provided young Jewish athletes with the opportunity to play sports, to socialise with pupils from other Jewish schools and to showcase their talents.

"Thousands of Jewish people have been provided with these opportunities over the last academic year and we are already looking forward to starting up again in September."
