An excellent all-round display from captain Ray Tammam helped Manchester Maccabi clinch their third victory of the campaign with a six-wicket success over Olympic in Gatley.
Beaten by the same team seven days ago, Tamman’s troops fought hard to stay in the game as Olympic moved to 110-4 at the midway point of the innings.
Tammam pitched in with three wickets with Steven Pearlman and Stuart Simpson adding two apiece as Olympic were dismissed for 192 after 38 overs.
In reply, Tammam helped take the score to 100 before he was caught for 40. An unbeaten half century from David Copeland plus 23 valuable runs from Steven Allweis eased Maccabi home with eight overs to spare.
Tammam said: “This was a remarkable turnaround from last week, when we lost in controversial circumstances.
"We bowled and fielded well and played with a positive attitude throughout the game which made the difference I feel. Though our bowling attack wasn't at full strength, all five bowlers we used played a part and I knew our batting was stronger than normal this week and it showed against a good team."
