Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom has expressed delight over the appointment of Gus Poyet as the club’s new manager.
Bloom explained the decision-making behind the former Chelsea and Spurs midfielder’s appointment. He said: "When Russell Slade (the former manager) parted company with the football club just over a week ago we had a lot of applicants, a lot of very good ones, and I had a lot of work to do to make sure this football club found the right manager.
"As soon as Gus Poyet was interested, I became very interested and everyone I spoke to [agreed] his reputation as being a top quality coach shone through, as well as being a top man."
"I am certain he will be a big success at the Albion.”
