Andy Ram and Max Mirnyi’s hopes of winning the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals doubles suffered a blow when they were beaten by Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach.
Having beaten Bob and Mike Bryan in their opening group match on Monday, Ram and Mirnyi knew that victory would book a place in the last four.
But they failed to capitalise on three match points against their Group B rivals. The Israel-Belarus duo won the first set 6-4 at the 02 Arena in London. Kubot and Marach levelled the tie after taking the second 6-4 before winning an epic deciding set 16-14.
