We all remember the video footage of the killing of Mohammed Al-Durrah, a 12 year old Palestinian, supposedly at the hands of the IDF in September 2000. The video was shown all over the world and had a huge influence on public opinion towards Israel, and it is claimed led to the second Intifada in which scores of Israelis and Palestinians were killed in a horrendous wave of violence.
A French journalist, Philippe Karsenty, has been fighting a ten year legal battle to prove that the video in question was in fact a complete hoax, featuring (not very good) actors. He has been attacked by the world's press and sued by the French media.
Now, in a landmark case, the French Court of Appeal has upheld Philippe Karsety's assertion that the video was in fact a hoax.
PJTV has an interview with M. Karsenty, including the "extra" footage which was not shown, which supports his case. Definitely worth a watch (although registration may be required):
