The Fresser

Rosh Hashanah - in July

School may only have just finished but I'm already cooking for Rosh Hashanah.

As you might imagine, it all gets a little busy at the JC come September. From Erev Rosh Hashanah (the evening the festival begins on 20th September ), through Yom Kippur, Sukkot and until we wave goodbye to Simchat Torah on 13th October, it's all short deadlines and panic stations.

We have huge newspapers to put together, a gazillion supplements and too many chags to mention - making time even more tight.

So, in order to get ahead, I'm spacing things out. Which is why, last week, it was all about autumn.

I and my lovely JC recipe contributors have been cooking up a storm and photographing the results so that you have even more delicious recipes to try out for your Yom Tov tables. Our theme this year? Apples and honey - what else?

It takes several hours at the home of our lovely Israeli photographer, Inbal Bar-Oz, and her husband, chef Amir Battito who helps style every dish.

I don't want to ruin the surprise, so I've given every shot a black and white disguise. You'll enjoy it more when you see your JC on the day the recipes are published - I promise.

Here are some pics of our day of photography:
