I see the Queen has launched a Facebook page for the British monarchy. According to today's Daily Telegraph, "The British Monarchy page provides a hi-tech version of the traditional Court Circular, detailing the daily engagements of members of the Royal Family and allowing users to comment on the arrangements. The new Facebook page has been described as 'the final frontier' of the Queen's foray into digital technonogy."

The royal Facebook page does not have a personal profile, so the Queen won't be writing on her wall, informing her fans (who within an hour of the page being launched numbered more than 40,000) "What's on one's mind".
And while one can click to "like" the page, one can't ask the royals to be one's Facebook "friend". Pity, because if Her Majesty actually is amused, she won't be able to LOL with the rest of us.
