Mitt Romney bombs in New York

January 18, 2012 21:26

Last night Mitt Romney raised money in the Big Apple for his campaign. $1.4 million, he boasted, adding parenthetically and pathetically, I might note
parenthetically, that he was charging for the drinks so he could keep all the money. Long lines for a glass of wine were maybe a harbinger of what it
would like to be in the US with him as president.
He spoke about how much he loved America and disliked Iran. Rather than some intelligent dialogue, he gave us stanzas of America the Beautiful.
And then he jerked the tears with a story about taking the casket of a serviceman back to his family. With his hand on his heart.
I'd prefer him to have had his hand on the steering wheel. Or on his mouth.
After all his patriotic rhetoric a serviceman did shake his hand, and Romney went cold, as if he preferred dead serviceman. This serviceman was live -
and told Romney to his face that he ought to quit this farce and let a real man, one with military experience, run for president.
Romney's security detail then made fools of themselves; rather than simply asking him to leave, which he was doing anyway, they threatened him with arrest
for 'embarrassing our candidate.' The man told them he would be happy to have the police called. And I'm sure he would, as this was a step away from a lawsuit.
They tried to illegally detain him, till he started pointing out to them that this was America and he knew his rights.
Well, there you go folks. Pamela Geller is not the only one opposing this nutter.
He will, I am sure, put his hand on his heart and say he loves Israel, but do not listen to this pathetic man.
Ron Paul is the one candidate who inspires confidence, and by the way, Dr Paul was in the service, as a flight surgeon.
And when he entered politics, he did not go around with his hand on his heart, but has proven his love for America by introducing
sensible legislation, such as a hemp bill.
And he stood alone for Israel, in 1981 when the rest of the GOP condemned Israel.
Romney now goes up against Paul and other GOP contenders in South Carolina, and you know which one has my prayers.
