Behaving decently

Last year we revealed the terrible story of parents who had been unable to mourn properly for their babies. The United Synagogue had refused to allow them to know where the bodies were buried. To its credit, the current US leadership immediately disowned the organisation's earlier behaviour and did everything possible to help those who had been denied the information.

It is shocking that the US's lead has not been universally followed. Adath will not even communicate with at least one mother, let alone tell her where her son is buried. This is not halachah. It is barbarity.
