Israel supports Tibet

Israel supports a Tibetan plan to seek full membership of the United Nations next month, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, released on Thursday. Israel's Foreign Ministry said that, its special envoy on Asia, told Tibetan leaders in a meeting that Israel and the Israeli people have always supported the Tibetan cause and respected their right for independence. Negotiations with China on the terms of Tibetan statehood have been frozen since forever. The Tibetan Authority is planning to gain recognition as a state from the UN General Assembly wheneverif China does not offer an acceptable settlement.
