An old baseless accusation

December 25, 2011 09:38

The Jew baiters who frequent this website accuse the Jews of being thieves of stealing something which actually belongs to them - they think they are being original however in the commentary of Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo Yiztchaki), who lived about 1000 years ago this is what he had to say about the first chapter of the Bible:

R. Yitzchok said: The Torah should have begun with [the verse] "This month shall be [your first month]," it being the first precept that the Israelites were commanded. Then why does it [the Torah] begin with "In the beginning"? This is because [of the concept contained in the verse,] "He declared the power of His works to His people in order to give to them the inheritance of nations." Thus, should the nations of the world say to Israel, "You are robbers, for you have taken by force the lands of the Seven Nations," they [Israel] will say to them: "All the earth belongs to G-d. He created it and gave it to whomever He saw fit. It was His will to give it to them and it was His will to take it from them and give it to us."

The Jew baiters are hardly original it is the same false and baseless claim that has been made by Jew haters for hundreds if not thousands of years. It is anti-Semitism since it denies the Jewish people as an entity that which is lawfully rightfully and morally theirs by setting up as a fake injured party an invented nation (not even one of the Seven Nations which inhabited Canaan) which never in all history had sovereignty over any part of the Land of Israel. We are still here and will be so when the Jew baiters and their hatreds are long forgotten.
