North West London Jewish Day School has made a happy start to the new academic year after being ranked as a good school by Ofsted.
Judith Caplan, headteacher, told parents: “the report is very encouraging and shows the significant progress that has been made in recent years”.
The school was rated good in all five categories with inspectors highlighting polite and respectful pupils, a “fruitful combination” of Jewish studies, secular curriculum and extra-curricular activities, alongside a well-led early-years section. However, they noted that pupil enthusiasm could sometimes translate into “over-excitement”.
Ms Caplan was praised for “forging a strong and highly capable leadership team.”
Children “who speak English as an additional language and disadvantaged pupils achieve at least as well as their peers”, Ofsted said.
North West London Jewish Day has accepted many French-speaking pupils over the past few years.
