Norwood has announced the launch of a pilot programme for parents worried about their child’s development and unsure of how to find the right support.
Parents will be able to book free 20-minute sessions with a teacher or therapist on Tuesday May 25.
They are intended for children at mainstream schools who have additional educational needs or struggle with learning.
This might be indicated by slow progress, behavioural issues, problems with literacy or numeracy, poor self-esteem, reluctance to attend school or disengagement from learning.
The clinic is designed to demystify the world of occupational and educational support, make it more accessible to parents and provide an entry-point where they can get advice on how and where to access longer-term support if needed.
Parents should contact sue.leonard@norwood.org.uk for educational and occupational therapy enquiries; andrea.reid@norwood.org.uk for speech and language therapy.
