articlemain

Ealing United Synagogue rounded off a year of centenary events with a dinner for 200 past and present members at the Holiday Inn Brentford Lock.

Guests included grandchildren of David Asserson, one of the synagogue founders.

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis praised the West London congregation as a caring community with a wealth of social, cultural and educational activities.

Long-serving warden Dr Brian Robinson was made an elder of the synagogue and Rabbi Mirvis presented him with a certificate recording a donation in Dr Robinson’s name to Langdon College.

Each guest received a personalised album containing memorabilia from a century of Ealing Jewish life.
