Shimon Peres and Chinese Ambassador to Israel Zhan Yongxin premiered a music video for a song written by Peres entitled "Chinese Melody" at a ceremony on Wednesday held to celebrate the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Monkey.

The event, held at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa, was attended by senior officials of the Chinese Embassy in Israel among other guests.

The song 'Chinese Melody' highlights strengthening relations between Israel and China.

Mr Peres said:"Israel loves China, and Israelis like the Chinese. Over the last fifty years China has had a revolution never before seen in history and has became a state where the economy, culture and science thrive. China has turned from a weak nation into one of the most powerful, and she has never neglected her culture. I am glad that we could celebrate here, together, the New Year – The Year of the Monkey symbolizes the love of life. I am confident that China will continue to thrive economically, socially, and culturally".
