This Sunday evening, Ashley Blaker is returning to tread the boards on JW3’s main stage.  This will be a show with a difference – Blaker will be performing alone, in front of a completely empty theatre.

Facing a sea of empty seats would normally be a comedian’s worst nightmare, but thanks to JW3 TV on JewishOnline, a large audience is expected in London, the UK and worldwide.

In the midst of a national lockdown, Ashley Blaker: Alone at JW3 will encompass the strange new realities of home-schooling, self-isolation and Pesach preparation in unprecedented circumstances.

Brought to you in association with the JC, the show is being put on with one purpose – to lift the community’s spirits in these difficult times. As Blaker puts it, “I hope it brings some light relief to the community across the UK and around the world,” adding: “I am delighted that Raymond [Simonson, CEO at JW3] and JW3 have given me the opportunity to try something really different”.

This will be the first live headline event hosted on JewishOnline, the new online streaming and events platform created by JW3 to connect and unite the wider community during the Covid-19 pandemic. It will also be the first time JW3 has offered tickets on a pay-what-you-can basis, as both venue and headliner are determined to make this much-needed show genuinely open to all.

Speaking as tickets went on sale online, Simonson said: “We’ve created JW3 TV as our virtual Jewish community centre, and launched JewishOnline as a platform to bring the whole community together in these difficult times. I could not think of a better person to commission to write and headline our first ever JW3 TV live comedy show than the hilarious Ashley Blaker. Stand-up comedy demands a live audience, so join us on Sunday night for your own front-row seat without leaving the house. This will be a hilarious and memorable night to lift the spirits, no matter where you are.”

Tickets are available now for Ashley Blaker: Alone At JW3 on the JW3 website.
