The Chichester Festival kicks off this year with Funny Girl, the musical that made Barbra Streisand a star. Stepping into Babs’s shoes is Samantha Spiro, who appeared in Mike Leigh’s Two Thousand Years as the bitter and twisted Michelle, a character who would have been great singing an amended version of the Funny Girl signature tune “People. People who hate people…”
