We can pip England to the post, says Ha'Cohen

Jaffa FC continued its recent excellent form with a 4-0 win over FC Anglia, their fourth win in succession.

Jaffa started off this Hamilton FX Olim League match brightly, with Nir Ha’Cohen continually causing Anglia problems on the right flank.

For all his possession however, Ha’Cohen failed to beat Roy Meron, who was dominating in goal. With Jaffa frustrated, Anglia managed to gain some good possession in the Jaffa half, but Elliot Hollander and Omri Hamama failed to use their opportunities to test Simon Davies in the Jaffa goal.

With half time approaching, Jaffa got a breakthrough - an overhit corner from Ha’Cohen was controlled by Beni Naim, who beat a man and left Meron with little chance.

With a slender lead, Jaffa pushed forward looking for the all-important second goal. Despite more excellent opportunities, it was Anglia who thought they made the breakthrough. After an excellent interchange in the middle, Omri was left one-on-one with Davies, whom he beat easily only to see his goal chalked off for offside.

Minutes later, Zander fouled Joshua Bar as he broke in on goal and received his second yellow card. Rani Madmon stepped up and found Nir Ha’Cohen unmarked inside the box. The winger left Meronwith no chance.

With a man advantage, Jaffa began creating more chances and a long Ha’Cohen run in the 72 minute left Bar with a simple tap in for a 3-0 lead.

Five minutes later, Ha’Cohen found himself free in the box again, and scored his second and Jaffa’s final goal of the night.

With five wins in seven games, Jaffa are looking to challenge FC England who are top of the league with 17 points.

"We need to win every game to have a chance of overtaking them," Nir Ha’Cohen explained, "but if we perform like we did tonight, it’s certainly possible."

England FC maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a convincing 5-2 victory over rivals Modiin in Jaffa.

England led through two early goals from Omer Peleg and Tal Stern, the former bundling home a corner after 10 minutes, with the latter extending the lead through a deflected long-range effort minutes later.

Modiin showed tremendous character to pull the game back to 2-2 with a thunderbolt from Omri Cohen finding the top corner and a neat close-range finish from David Zackon making it all square.

It was all England from then on, with Lewis Kaye slotting in a composed finish following tricky footwork by David Flo on the touchline, to cap off an entertaining first half.

Adam Jaffe completed the scoring with a second-half brace, the first coming after Kaye's Gareth Bale-like run and cross, followed by a class finish by the American minutes later.

It ended 5-2, but could have been more. England stay top.
