The Maccabi Masters League have named a 22-man squad ahead of their fourth Israel tour and over 45s international competition.

The party also includes a physio and 10 accompanying supporters with the squad set to face opponents from Argentina, Israel, Russia and South Africa.

The trip will incorporate a programme designed on the theme of Israel's 60th anniversary, ‘Following the footsteps of the Warriors 1948-2008'. The delegation has received sponsorship from Herods Residence Eilat and One Family, the charity that supports victims of terrorism.

Stuart Lustigman, head of delegation and chairman of the Masters League, said: "This tour has grown in popularity ever since our first trip in 2002. Whereas in the past we have toured during the Intifada or just after the Lebanese War, on this occasion the motivation is much more joyful as we celebrate Israel's 60th birthday and its remarkable achievements.

"Many of the players also represented Maccabi GB at the Pan American Maccabi Games in Buenos Aires last December and it's just incredible that we can be travelling the world and playing football at this stage of our lives."

The squad is: Nigel Conway, Gary Good, Jonathan Holman, Malcolm Joseph, Mark Kingston, Ian Leader, Tony Platman (EDRS), Stephen Brower, Geoff Isaacs (Temple Fortune), Stuart Coutts, Arthur Duke, Mitchell Freeman, Marc Morris (LML), Brian Donne (Brady), Brian Cowan, Gary Grant, Phil Smith (Glenthorne), Simon Lawrence, Martin Lerner, David Walton (Norstar), Jonathan Lauffer, Stuart Lustigman (Ashlodge). Physio: Vish Tanna
