Leeds maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Gascoigne.

Following on from their comprehensive 4-1 win last Sunday at home to Republica, Leeds faced their first major challenge this term with a tough midweek away game against a team that is expected to challenge them for the title.

It was Leeds who dominated the game from the start, with the away team bossing the midfield, superbly led by newly-appointed captain Adam Gilman. Alongside him was the tough-tackling Oshri Amar who wasn’t letting much pass him. But for all Leeds' possession, chances were few and far between and the first half ended goalless.

Steven Berke was injured and had to be replaced at half time by Elliot Jackson who slotted into central defence alongside the impressive Max Clynes, who was making his first senior start of the season and produced a man-of-the-match performance.

Wide men Tim Zoltie and Louis Fisher were seeing more of the ball, resulting in more chances being created, with the Gascoigne keeper by far the busier.

Leeds took a deserved lead when a superb pass from Tim Zoltie found Nick Vale who rifled the ball into the net.

A second goal soon followed after some good link play, leaving Gilman clean through on goal and he sealed the points with a cool finish.

This result leaves Leeds Maccabi unbeaten after their first three games.
