Ullmann proud of Leeds kids

Leeds Maccabi 3rd boss Alex Ullmann praised his young guns after they gave Hyde Park Rovers a real run for their money in their latest MJSL clash.

Trailing 4-0 in the second-half, Maccabi hit back to score three times in ten minutes and leave Rovers hanging on nervously.

Adam Kristall, Dan Davidson and Joseph Jackson were all on target as the visitors rallied to make it 4-3.

And although Hyde Park eventually ran out 6-3 winners, Ullmann was more than happy with his side’s showing.

“I was very pleased with the overall performance,” he said. “Hyde Park are a very good team and beat us 6-0 at home back in October.

“We were prepared to come up against a strong side who have won half of their games so far and scored some great goals against us in our last meeting.

“We have been finding some form over the last few weeks and we’ve been scoring some good goals, so we knew that we could take a battle to Hyde Park.

“I am especially pleased with the younger members of the team, who have shown great improvement over the past few weeks.”

Leeds have improved markedly in recent weeks and will now hope to pull off another shock result against champions Manchester Maccabi 3rd – the team they drew with at the start of the season.

He added: “We will continue to train hard and look forward to next week’s home fixture against Manchester Maccabi 3rds, who we stole a point from, away in Manchester.

“We are ready to take the fight to them again and hopefully come away with the 3 points we should have got at our first meeting.”
