articlemain

The race for the Maccabi Masters League Division One title was blown wide open after leaders Glenthorne United A and defending champions Brady Maccabi A were beaten.

Glenthorne were beaten 2-1 by title hopefuls North London Raiders, for whom Jonny Dubiner and Ashley Davidson were on target. Greg Morris replied.

Second-placed Brady failed to make up any ground as they were beaten by the same score by South Mancunians. Neil Kochane scored for Brady, but strikes from David Hyman and Paul Rodin secured the win for Mancs.

Division Two leaders EDRS Stonegrove left it late to snatch the points against Clayhall. Brian Deal put Clayhall ahead but Brian Deal, but Mark Kingston soon turned the game on its head with Jacob Namer’s late third sealing the win to open up a five-point gap at the top.

A goal from Meir Velenski earned Basement battlers Ashlodge their first win of the season as they edged past early pace-setters Brady Maccabi B who have now lost six on the spin.
