Oaxhill Lions survived a scare before booking their spot in the Shonn Trophy semi-finals.

The students had seen their three-goal advantage from the first-leg under threat from a spirited AFC Flixton side, but the introduction of substitute Max Berg turned the tie in Oakhill’s favour.

Oaxhill boss Josh Daniels said: "We were a little bit too confident at the start and we were made to pay.

"Flixton came out of the blocks and took advantage of our mistakes. Thankfully we got our act together and in the end we were pretty comfortable.

"It was a lesson learned that we must start every match in the same manner or we will get punished."

Flixton were on course to complete a turnaround after leading 3-1 at the break via Dan Warwick, Jake Delmonte and Alex Glassman. But Richard Sandberg, Roy Skop and super-sub Berg ensured Oakhill cruised through into the last-four to play either Maccabi Manchester 2nd or South Manchester Sports 2nd.
