JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- ADAM ISAACS (Mill Hill Dons) - delightful lob over the keeper

- LIAM STEIN (NL Raiders C) - built from the back, before a Dembele-esq run from Joel Levitt before feeding Alex Elf one edge of the Catford area, who played an inch-perfect cross into Liam Stein who fired home his second of the morning

- SAMUEL LEADER (Finchley City) - lethal counter-attack, ball got played inside to Samuel Leader who turned the defender inside out and unleashed a thunderbolt into the top corner from 25 yards

- ZAC GARBACZ (Hendon A) - a brilliant flowing 15-pass team goal culminating in an overlapping Greg Corin run and cross which was lashed into the top corner by Garbacz

- ADAM WATERS (Scrabble FC) - coming on as sub for the last 20 minutes, Waters beat several players down the left hand side, cut inside and hit a screamer into the Faithfold goal to make it 5-2

- LEE WARNER (Oakwood A) - inch-perfect in swinging corner into the top left corner of the goal. Keeper no chance

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JON JACOBS (Redbridge JC A) - "This game can only be described as a wake-up call for Redbridge. Missing a few regulars but essentially still playing a string 11, this was the toughest game Redbridge have had and that includes the game against Oakwood A"

- NICK STERN (L'Equipe) - "It's only one more win that’s what I keep telling every member of my squad, but the attitude and desire that they keep on showing week in, week out makes me excited for the rest of the season"

- JONATHAN ADELMAN (NL Raiders B) - "All credit to Brixton; all of us in Jewish football have been on the end of difficult results over the years - in contrast to some teams, they never stopped battling, their heads never dropped and they didn't resort to unsportsmanlike behaviour"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - "We managed to pull clear with further goals the pick of the bunch being a superb team move which was finished off in style by young Zac Garbacz - the only downside being I wasn't there to witness it!"

- AVI MARKIEWICZ (RC UK FC) - "The difference between the two teams today though was undeniably two players. Avi and Yehuda Korman. They were a cut above the rest and won the game for Hendon. (Both Totw nominations for Hendon)"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND THREE

SCRABBLE TURN ON THE STYLE
FAITHFOLD B 2 SCRABBLE FC 5
A deadly doubles from Josh Bharier and Elliot Espinoza fired Scrabble into the quarter-finals of the League Cup following a 5-2 success over second division Faithfold B.

Another strike from Adam Waters added the gloss on a comfortable morning for Ray Abrahams’ men.

Faithfold's goals came via Avi Garson, from the penalty spot following a foul on David Benaim, and Sam Garson, from an Avi Garson assist.

Scrabble manager Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "We came here knowing that Faithfold are a decent side and I thought we showed today that we had that bit of extra quality on the ball that comes from a team in a higher division."

Josh Marks sealed the win in a game where top-scorer Reiss Mogilner scored twice for Brady.

SUPER SADE PUTS FINCHLEY IN 7TH HEAVEN
FINCHLEY CITY 7 FC TEAM B 0
AN OLI SADE treble helped first division Finchley City romp into the quarter-finals after finishing in seventh heaven against Division Two strugglers FC Team B.

Daniel Polak (2), Sam Leader and Shim Bensoor joined the party as Finchley turned on the style.

Finchley boss Joel Holder told JC Sport: "The boys were magnificent today. Some of the football we played was out of the top drawer. We were fluid in our attacks, dominate in possession and clinical in our finishing.

"It's been extremely difficult to nominate our stand-out players, because I could easily choose the entire squad.

"Special mention to our fullbacks; the Kanter brothers who were instrumental both defensively and offensively. Polak, Sade, Leader and Bensoor were a joy to watch whilst both Krieger and Daniel Sinclair were magnificent at the back.

"We know that if we play like we did today, we can give anyone a game. It's been the best performance of the season and we hope it will continue like this throughout the year."

DC Prediction: Finchley 3 FC Team 0

COHEN LATE SHOW STUNS FC TEAM
FC TEAM A 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS B 3 (AFTER EXTRA-TIME)
An extra-time strike from Charlie Cohen saw Division One table-toppers Lions B send Premier Division FC Team A tumbling out of the cup.

Adam Abadi and Zak Linden were the other goal men for the Lions. Player-manager Mitch Young and an own goal accounted for the FC Team strikes.

Jubilant Lions boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "It was important for us to get a result today coming off the back of two draws at home in the league. We are delighted to be in the quarter-final of this cup and we know start preparing for next week's away trip to Oakwood."

RAIDERS TAKE BLANCOS TO THE CLEANERS
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 12 LOS BLANCOS 0
Cup holders Raiders A were at their clinical best, with JORDAN MARKS (4), BEN ELLIS and LIRON MANNIE firing hat-tricks in a 12-0 demolition of Blancos.

Further strikes from Nyv Bogaire and full-back Alex Bloch completed the rout.

NLR boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "Today was more about our general performance than the amount of goals we scored. I was still disappointed from last week and so I wanted to see a big response in our mentality from beginning to end. It could have been 1-0 and my interest still would have only been on certain elements of our performance and so the scoreline for me was irrelevant.

"Ultimately I was happy with how we played and how we didn't take our foot off the gas. It was ruthless but the boys knew what was wanted and they responded well."

DC Prediction: Raiders 3 Blancos 0

KORMEN IN A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
RC UK FC 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 6
Former winners Hendon A stormed through after hitting Division Two new boys RC UK FC for six, courtesy of goals from Avi Korman (2), Ari Last, Zac Lewis, Josh Harrisand Zac Garbacz, with his first for the club.

Akiva Zneimer grabbed a consolation for RC UK.

Hendon manager David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We managed to pull clear with further goals the pick of the bunch being a superb team move which was finished off in style by young Zac Garbacz - the only downside being I wasn't there to witness it!

RC UK gaffer Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "Today was tough for us to take. We let our heads drop in the second half and so our shape and discipline went out the windows and we stopped working hard enough. The difference between the two teams today though was undeniably two players. Avi and Yehuda Korman. They were a cut above the rest and won the game for Hendon. I'm not going to say we did well or I'm proud, I'm not, I don't care who the other team is, I never like losing and the way we ended off the game wasn't good enough."

GOLDSTEIN GETS RJC OUT OF JAIL
REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 4 OAKWOOD B 3
Premier Division leaders Redbridge A were given an almighty scare before seeing off first division Oakwood in extra-time.

In the end strikes from Danny Berg, Ben Sollosi, Dean Nyman and Russell Goldstein steered RJC through.

Oakwood's goals came through Daniel Selwyn, Rafi Bloom and Max Clynes.

Oakwood B went 1-0 up but fell 2-1 down before equalising to make it 2-2. Redbridge looked to have won 3-2 late on before Clynes headed home in stoppage time to take it to extra-time.

RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport; "This game can only be described as a wake-up call for Redbridge. Missing a few regulars but essentially still playing a string 11, this was the toughest game Redbridge have had and that includes the game against Oakwood A. Breathing a huge sigh of relief, we will take that and move on to the last eight."

Oakwood manager Jason Stein, who missed the match, told JC Sport: "Under the management of Oakwood legend James Abrams, we put in a heroic performance today. "Before the weekend we spoke about every single player needing to play to their absolute best, for us to work hard, be prepared, be committed and to be brave and that sounds like exactly what happened.

DOMB WAXES LYRICAL OVER RAMPANT RAIDERS
CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 6
"We've got our Raiders back". Those were the words of joint-manager David Domb on a morning to forget for promotion-chasing Catford who were given a lesson by a rampaging Raiders C.

Alex Elf (2), Liam Stein, Alex Sherr and an own goal cemented NLR's third league win of the season.

A delighted Domb told JC Sport: "We spoke about belief and making a statement, and the records will show they finished the game with 10 men. We were 4-0 up when he was dismissed. Changed absolutely nothing. We were utterly dominant today."

Cats player-manager Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: "Raiders deserved their win but we move on and will bounce back."

Adam Isaacs sealed the win with MHD's other goal.

Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "For the third week in a row we came from behind to gain the points, we are getting better every week and it showed yet again today. We know we can't get complacent though, there were things that need to improve ahead of next week's challenge game against unbeaten L'Equipe, we do feel like we can challenge anyone we play at the moment so we are looking forward to the challenge. STONE COMES BACK TO HAUNT VALE
TEMPLE FORTUNE 6 HERTSWOOD VALE 1
GAB STONE (3) was the chief destroyer as Temple Fortune returned to winning ways after hitting Vale for six in Pinner to climb into second place.

Two more from Jordan Sharifian and a first TFFC goal for Dean Shaw clinched the win.

Elio Elia grabbed a consolation for Vale.

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a very comfortable win and was over after half hour when we was 4-0 up. The second half was more competitive and a bit scrappy but overall how can I complain when we win 6-1. I'm delighted to get back to winning ways and go second."

Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We lost to a good Temple Fortune side with our worst performance of the season. Once again with more players unavailable than available for this Sunday's game, the omens weren't good."
