Stanton lifts the Lions

articlemain

An injury-time winner from Daniel Stanton helped London Lions come from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Stony Stratford Town in the first division of the Molten Spartan South Midlands League.

Josh Kennet started the comeback with man-of-the-match Andy Glynne putting Lions ahead. Connor Perlmutter, 16, set up Stanton for the winner.

Lions manager Tony Gold said: "Once again we conceded two awful goals but ended up getting away with it. No disrespect to Stony Stratford, but against better opposition we would have struggled to get anything from the game."

Strikes from Shai Revivo (2) and Nick Goodman steered London Lions reserves into the semi-finals of the SSML Reserve Challenge Cup following a 3-1 win over Hadley.
