South Manchester march on

articlemain

A superb all-round performance inspired South Manchester to a five-wicket success in their latest GMACL against Foresters.

Missing several bowlers, South dominated the Foresters batsmen and it was only a brilliant knock of 70 by Natha, which kept them in the game.

Steven Allweis was the pick of the bowlers with 3-24 off his allotted 10 overs, but a great contribution from spinner Andrew Williams of 2-31 kept South on top. Dan Paul (2-17) picked up a couple to restrict Foresters to 124 all out.

Akiva Lieberman and Shaia Rabinovitz got South’s reply off to a brisk start - putting on 36 before Rabinovitz fell to Latif.

Jody Marks, returning to the side for the first time in four years, kept the reply on track, but when he fell it brought Josh Woolfstein to the crease.

Wickets were falling around him but Woolfstein hit three fours in an unbeaten 25 and kept his head, to see South over the line.
