South ease past Maccabi

Manchester Maccabi 63 Glick 4-21

South Manchester strolled to an 86-run victory against Manchester Maccabi.

David Glick’s stunning spell of 4-21 reduced Maccabi to a paltry 63 as Ray Tammam’s side failed to get anywhere near their victory target of 150.

Maccabi had made an encouraging start after Tammam dismissed the dangerous Akiva Lieberman for just 18.

But despite finishing with fine figures of 3-28, Tammam’s effort failed to prevent South from easing to their fifth league win of the season.

Glick’s triple-wicket maiden killed off any hopes Maccabi had of launching a successful run chase, while Josh Oehley claimed 2-4 off his six overs.

South will now switch their attention to the Twenty20 competition next week with a game against Haughton Green.

Meanwhile, Salford suffered defeat in their rain-affected clash with league leaders Wilmslow.

Wilmslow made 332 before rain forced the game to be reduced to just eight overs with Salford losing out on their slower run rate after finishing on 38-1.
