Shum fired

Israeli champions Betar Jerusalem have fired their manager Yitzhak Shum and appointed Reuven Atar in his place.

Betar owner Alexander Gaydamak reportedly consulted Avram Grant over the decision and the former Chelsea boss recommended Atar. The new man led Maccabi Netanya to the runners-up spot in the past two seasons, only to be replaced by Lothar Matthaus.
