Goals from Sid Shaw (2) and Paul Shamplina helped maintain Glenthorne United A’s unbeaten start in Division One as they accounted for South Mancunians 3-0.

Defending champions Brady Maccabi A got back to winning ways with a 5-0 mauling of title rivals North London Raiders. Scott Ansher (2), Marc Herman, Gideon Barnett and Jason Harris found the net. Brady manager Daniel Collins said: “We’re not giving up our title without a fight.”

London Maccabi Lions A made their intentions clear with a 3-2 victory over Faithfold, who took the lead through Darren Gurner. Lions stormed back with goals from Adam Lee, Andy Miller and Nick Baum, and despite Faithfold’s Joel Nathan pulling one back, Lions held on.

EDRS Stonegrove beat London Maccabi Lions B 3-2 in Division Two. EDRS stormed into a three-goal lead courtesy of strikes from Mark Kingston (2) and Adam Kern. Marc Morris and Laurence Swerner replied.

Brady Maccabi B made it two wins out of two as they beat Glenthorne United B with goals from Gary Field, Lenny Klein and Dean Poster.

Temple Fortune also won 3-0, beating Ashlodge with Yali Mamouri, Allon Schick-Maier and James Simpson finding the net.

Norstar surprised Clayhall, last season’s second division champions, with Lee Cohen, Steve Jakar and Richard Kleiner the marksmen. Norstar manager Alan Dove said: “Last season Clayhall were worthy champions, but we showed that we’re more than capable of competing with the top teams.”
