Season 2012/13 preview: Oakwood A

articlemain

Oakwood have made some marquee signings over the summer. Managers Ric Blank and Alex Schock were happy to splash the cash, although it was iced water all around when they spoke to Danny Caro.

Competitions entered: County Cup, Peter Morrison Trophy, Cyril Anekstein Cup and MSFL Premier

Hopes for the season: We don't really have any specific aims this season. Obviously we want to stay up but really we just want to be competitive every match and recreate our form from the back end of last season. If we can perform like that we'll have a solid season.

Main challengers: There are so many good sides in the division. Hendon are obviously the team to beat and everyone will be gunning for them. But Faithfold have a tremendous team as do Lions who are many people's favourites. Brady have great individuals and Raiders under Rob Richman are an incredibly tough unit to crack and will have strengthened considerably. Brixton, ourselves and Norstar, who all came up together, will find it a very difficult division indeed. But we are not afraid to give it a go.

Is your squad complete or are you still looking to strengthen? We never say no to good players who have the Oakwood spirit. But I'm delighted with the squad as it is. I'd have been happy to go into this season with the same squad as I finished last year with, but we've managed to add Josh and Paul Bentley plus a couple of others too. Unfortunately Eddie Manson has done his cruciate and will be out for the season. That's a blow but it gives someone else a chance to make their mark.

Captain: Do you know Adam Levine?

Ones to watch: Josh Rose and Josh Rubin. Two good young players who are getting fitter, with more football under their belts. They've both had a good pre-season and are champing at the bit for KO.

What will your team bring to the league this season? Same as every year - the best spirit, biggest characters and will to win no other team has.
