Redknapp key to Yossi's QPR move

Yossi Benayoun says that Harry Redknapp was a major factor behind his decision to join QPR.

The former Israel captain, 33, impressed manager Harry Redknapp during a trial and has signed a short-term deal with the Loftus Road club.

"I'm delighted everything is done,” Benayoun said. "I can't wait to get involved and help the team.
“The manager was a very big factor for me.

"He showed me from the beginning that he really wanted me, and he is someone I have always wanted to play for so I am very happy."

Redknapp is delighted to have the services of Benayoun who could make his QPR debut against Blackpool this weekend after joining until the end of the season.

"Yossi is a good footballer and a top-class player," said Redknapp. "He's got great ability and is someone I’ve always liked. I actually tried to take him to Tottenham at one time. I think he will be a fantastic addition to the squad."
