PMT final preview - meet Brady Maccabi

articlemain

After winning at Manchester Maccabi and sticking five past Redbridge in the semis, all eyes are on Brady Maccabi in Sunday's big final.

OLI COLMANS (Goalkeeper)
Currently the longest-serving player at the club having been at Brady for more than years. Has come on leaps and bounds over the last two seasons and has been very important in Brady’s run to the cup final

RYAN FOX (Defender)
A big, strong defender who is commanding and always committed for the cause. Solid in defence and has found a new position at right back over the past couple of seasons

JOEL LASSMAN (Right-back)
Another player who has suffered with injuries, but is now coming back to his best. Joel is a solid defender who loves to bomb forward. Super quick and super committed

JON ELLIS (Skipper) (Defender)
Commanding, good in the air, good with the ball at his feet and is an ever-present. He has led the club since joining from Neasden a couple of seasons ago and is one of the best things to happen to this team. Jon gathers respect from everyone and is vital in Brady’s push for success. Jon also gets many vital goals at the right time

JORDAN NATHAN (Defender)
In his first full season in senior football, but has already showed what an outstanding prospect he is, very comfortable in the back for or in midfield, definitely one to watch in the future. Just 18-years-old

NICK SMITH (Centre back)
John Terry-esque, but has had an unfortunate season with injuries. Smithy is a rock. He is so strong, tough and will always die for the cause

BRAD SHARP (Left-back)
The best left-back in the MSFL, rejoined the club this season from NWN but settled in straight away and made the position his own. Very quick and can deliver a great corner

JOSH GORDON (Midfield)
Josh would die for the cause. He is 100 per cent committed every week (as long as his physio says he can play), he scores many vital goals at the right time (including the semi-final). Josh is a natural leader and carries a lot of the young boys in the squad

MATT SOFIER (Midfield)
Another new signing this season from NWN, who has become the teams enforcer, plays with unbelievable passion and his never say die attitude rubs off on everyone around him a great leader on the pitch

BEN JOSEPH (Midfield)
Another signing from NWN, has battled back from injury and shown he has the best feet in the league who can turn a game with one moment of brilliant skill, a great asset to the club

ROB LERNER (Striker)
The OAP of the team at 31. The fourth signing from NWN A, very committed player who gives his all in every game until his legs say no more, can play wide or central and scores some vital goals

STEVE FIELD (Midfield)
A young player at this level who after being a virtual ever-present last season has played sparingly this season due to university commitments. Only been on the scene for a couple of seasons, but is one of the brightest talents in Jewish football when his head is screwed on. A small temper on him for a small lad. Great quality on the ball and has a great touch and pass

JOSH HERSHMAN (Winger)
An exceptional winger who terrorises defences for a living. Committed to the cause, scores a vital goal almost every week and isn’t afraid to put his foot in. A breath of fresh air to the club

JONATHAN GREEN (Attacking midfield/Playmaker/In the hole, Striker)
A hard-working, committed character who works extremely hard for the team. Has played in various positions but is most comfortable as a second striker. Loves a moan so his team feels sorry for the ref. Top goal-scorer

MARC LAZARE (Striker)
The final NWN signing, Laz is a whippet who chases everything down, scores vital goals and is so looking forward to playing against his Manchester mates

ALEX HERSHMAN (Winger)
Missed the start of the season as he was travelling, but since his return has become an important member of the squad. A super quick winger who rivals his brother on the other wing.

MANAGEMENT

JOSH ROSENFELD (Joint-manager)
After two seasons, Josh decided that he wanted to take more of a backseat role after building a wonderful squad, which has and still is doing the club proud. However, after only a few games he couldn’t stay away as he is so committed to taking Brady back to the top of Jewish football and you can see his enthusiasm rubs off on every single player in the squad. The football club can only go from strength to strength with Josh at the helm

JOEL NATHAN (Joint-manager)
Stepped in when Josh Rosenfeld wanted to stay in the background, but was very happy when Josh wanted to return. Joel is a great Chairman and very patient man. He is Mr Brady. If he isn’t dealing with the men’s teams he is organising the 16 junior teams Brady have, and on top of that he is also managing the U18 Maccabiah squad in Israel later this year. Brady deserves to award all their success to Joel for what he does for the whole entire club over the years
