The Sky Blues moved a step closer to winning the league title in a passionate game against strong opponents in Omonia White.

With four games remaining and a four point lead, it was imperative that Pinner put on a good show to keep up their five game unbeaten run.

Things went to plan, but found the opposition ready for the fight and both teams came close to scoring on several occasions.

The deadlock was broken with a swift move down the left by flying winger Ben' The Bullet' Green, who got to the by-line and whip in a tantalising cross which was met with much aplomb by in-form striker Guy Appel, who bundled the ball across the line to take his tally to three goals in three games.

The remainder of the first half was very end to end and Omonia managed to sneak one in past the Sky Blues keeper to end the half with both sides level.

In the second period Pinner came out all guns blazing and before long, a lovely move by Ollie Hershon, Pinner's other in-form striker, made the score 2-1.

To add to that, Green produced one of his trademark left-foot rockets from an acute angle which was too hot for the keeper to handle and the score stood at 3-1.

Omonia produced some fine football and were rewarded when a through ball was defended well by left back Jordan Davies, only to see the ball hit the Omonia player, plum smack in the middle of his face and into the back of the net to make it a tense last five minutes.

The Sky Blues held on to the victory and moved one step closer to the coveted league title.
