Phil Peters, manager of UJS Norstar A, has been appointed manager of Team GB, who will be looking to retain their European Maccabi Football Trophy competition in Torremolinos in May.

Peters and his assistant Jamie Slavin will spearhead the squad at the fifth European EMFT from the May 27-30 that will see teams from a number of Maccabi organisations all over Europe take part in a 'festival of football'.

Peters said: "Jamie and I are delighted to have been appointed to the roles and are looking forward to assembling a fantastic squad who will be focused on going out to Spain to retain the trophy.

"We'll be looking to take the most talented players and give opportunities to those from outside the Premier Division to play representative football and compete at the highest level."

Maccabi GB will be entering teams in the following competitions: Open Football (ages 18 and over) and Masters Futsal (ages 35 and over).

Anyone wishing to get involved should email philipjpeters@gmail.com. A first trial will be held on March 25, location to be confirmed.
