Olympic Games: Day 3 round-up

Here's the latest from Day 3 of the London Olympics.

    SWIMMING
Israel's Amit Ivry trailed home in sixth place in the Women's 200m Individual Medley at the Aquatics Centre on Monday night.

Ivry, who had set a new Israeli record in the heats, made an impressive start but began to tire midway through the race. She eventually touched home in 2:13:31

There was also disappointment in the pool for Gal Nevo who slid out of the Men's 200m butterfly in the heats.

    SHOOTING
Medal hopeful Sergey Richter narrowly missed out on a place in the 10am Air Rifle final.

The Israeli marksman failed to make the final eight by just one point, with Frenchman Pierre Edmond Piasecki eding into the last slot.

Richter fired an opening score of 99 in round one, followed by scores of 98, 98, 100, 100 and 100 to finish on 595-50.

He will be back in action at the Royal Artillery Barracks on Tuesday.

    JUDO
There was disappointment for Soso Palaloshvili in the 73kg category after he tumbled out of the competition in round two. After beating Sezer Huysuz earlier in the day, he succumbed to Riki Nakaya of Japan.

    FENCING
USA fencer Tim Morehouse bowed out in the quarter-finals of the men's sabre at the Excel centre.
